Why Obama won’t stage a coup

There was a very enlightening article published on the American Thinker today, that explores the idea of President Obama seizing power in such a way as to set himself over the Constitution and Congress.

Read the article in full. I command you!

I agree with the argument laid forth: that there are simply too many systems (state government, military, police, popular movements, etc.) in place that would prevent such a thing from happening. And that the power of the people is most often in the past, and more likely in the present to be seized slowly and silently by corrupt bureaucratic establishments that are a manifestation of extorted and re-interpreted founding principles.

However, I also believe that such a radical take over could take place under the circumstance of a national or global catastrophe, such as a disease pandemic or economic meltdown. This is the kind of radical take over I discussed at the end of my gigantic “What Was Said And Done” post.
